The OSSA 10U Program has evolved with the High Performance Program over the years. Because of the acceleration of our programs, the majority of 10U players evaluated have been selected to our Developmental Team. Because of this, we are no longer doing Red/Orange dot clinics. If you would like to schedule a tryout, please contact us!
If a player chooses this competitive pathway, he/she is looking to play high school tennis and/or compete in local & regional tournaments. OSSA offers players top coaching with a lot of point play and live ball situations in the clinics.
Players are expected to compete in live ball drills and have solid experience in point play and competitive matches at the Junior Team Tennis, middle school or high school levels, and/or have tournament experience in USTA/MAS.
Most practices will be live ball in order to accelerate improvement and players are encouraged to take private lessons to improve technical aspects of their games.
The OSSA Competition Team is for players who have competed in Mid-Atlantic L5-L7 tournaments and, preferably, compete in at least 1 tournament per month on average throughout the year. This group also consists of middle school and high school team players in singles and doubles. Age range will vary from 12-18 years.
The OSSA Championship Team is an Invite-Only group that the OSSA National Coaches select based on a number of criteria. Select criteria includes, but is not limited to, the following:
The OSSA National Coaches reserve the right to add/subtract any players to/from the Championship Team at any point during the year.
To help determine the right competitive pathway for junior players, OSSA created the Developmental Team which is a 12U program that consists of hand-selected players by our coaches.
The purpose behind the Developmental Team is to give players an opportunity to improve before deciding which path to take going into Middle School-- either high level junior tournaments and/or participate on high school teams.
Official tryouts are used for selection and each player MUST be selected into this program.
Previous participation on the Developmental Team does not guarantee future placement of any kind to any invite-only groups.

OSSA's make-up policy allows each player to miss up to 2 clinics in each of the Spring and Fall Sessions. Those classes missed must be made up during the respective season and may not be carried over into the next session or any future sessions. It is the player's responsibility to attend the clinics and any missed clinics over the 2 allotted absences will be forfeited.
For the Winter Session, OSSA allows each player to miss up to 4 clinics. Those classes missed must be made up during the respective season and may not be carried over into the next session or any future sessions. It is the player's responsibility to attend the clinics and any missed clinics over the 4 allotted absences will be forfeited.
OSSA will, however, provide a "Make-Up Session" for 1 week between the Winter and Spring Sessions (First 2 weeks in April) and for 1 week between the Fall and Winter Sessions (First 2 weeks in November). Those make-up classes will be reserved for only players who signed up for multiple days of training.
For the Summer Session, OSSA allows make-ups to be done throughout the summer months. No make-ups will be allowed to be carried over into the Fall Session or any future sessions.
It is important for parents and players to stay in contact with all OSSA notifications regarding weather, schedule changes or important announcements.
OSSA always tries to send an eblast for all daily announcements, including weather updates, but parents and players should always check out OSSA's Twitter page and Facebook page for all up-to-the-minute changes.
